How to Live Like ‘Next Level You’

Live_Like_Next_Level_You.png

We all have a version of ourselves we envisioned when we created our business. Yours may be a confident woman who wakes up each morning, breezes through her routine, and is ready to slay her day!

She checks her inbox to find clients praising her for transforming their lives. She stumbles across more emails from people begging to work with her.

She then checks her bank account and realises she has nothing to worry about. Finances are all taken care of because of this opportunity she created for herself.

And on top of that, she has just hired a team of help so she can focus on the parts of her work that light her up.

She feels fulfilled and grateful knowing she’s able to help others. She has answered her calling.

Life is going great!

Maybe this is your version. Maybe not. But in the end, we all want similar outcomes in our business — fulfilment in what we do and no financial worries. Ah. What a calming thought.

The problem is… you’re not quite there yet and you’re not sure how to get there. This is exactly what I’m teaching right now in my coaching program.

The secret is all about tapping into your ideal self

A concept that changed everything for me is the idea of Be. Do. Have. This asks the questions who do you need to be and what do you need to do to have what you desire in your life?

Stop and think about that for a second. You need to embody the person you want to BE. DO things and make actions like that person does. Then you can HAVE the results you want.

The woman you aspire to become is in your head in some form. But, you should get very clear on who she is (more on how to do this later).

And once you’re crystal clear, you can connect with her in ways that will inspire you. It’s a very powerful mindset shift.

The main message of this concept is to discover and embody the ‘Next Level You’

How to Live Like the Next Level You

You’re probably wondering ‘what in the world is “Next Level You”?’.

If you’ve never heard of it, it’s the idea that you are living NOW for the person you want to become. In other words, you need to show up as your ideal self TODAY. Don’t wait for her to show up.

I mentioned before that most of us have this woman dreamed up inside our heads, so...

Here are some questions you can ask yourself to tap into this future version of yourself

  • How does she act?

  • How does she make her decisions?

  • How does she feel on a daily basis?

  • What are her habits?

Once you figure out the answers to these questions, you’ll be able to zen with her. It helps if you write them down on paper so you can see your answers with your own eyes.

You should start with self-reflection. Start getting aware of yourself. Oftentimes, it’s easier to think about someone else achieving your goals because to you they may seem far-fetched.

Come up with a picture in your mind and imagine you’re someone else. Think about where she is in her journey. Think about what she has achieved. Think about her next steps. And make decisions as she would. Again, it’s a mindset thing.

This is how we can get unstuck in our current situation where we may feel like we’re at a standstill.

Eventually, you’ll be able to look at that person as your own self, and the confidence will come naturally.

Why is it Important?

I stand behind this concept because I believe it can truly accelerate our business. We will get where we want to be so much faster because we’re making decisions as someone who’s already successful. Even if you’re not quite there yet.

I’ve done this exercise with my current clients and see such a positive change in their mindsets. It’s captivating to watch.

How Can You Make This a Habit?

This is something that takes practice with time. It can become a formed habit if you dig deep and do the inner work.

I suggest doing actions daily and make it a routine.

Here are some tips to get it going:

1. Have a daily 5-minute practice

Do something as simple as journaling every day. You can write down your daily wins, for example. This allows you to see everything you’ve accomplished that day. You will feel empowered for tomorrow.

2. Reflect on your day. What went well today? What didn’t go well today?

Think about what felt seamless, along with what you could improve on. And apply this to your future decisions. It’s important to know and be aware of both so you can make changes where you need them.

3. Ask yourself ‘was I making decisions as Next Level Me?’

Be mindful of your choices for the day and notice if they are what your next-level version would do. If not, it’s time to regroup. Always be thinking ‘What would she do?’.

We are Ever-Changing

One thing to keep in mind is this version of yourself is ever-changing. You are always evolving as a person in your everyday life. So, it’s no different when it comes to your business self.

Of course, I believe your ‘business self’ and your ‘personal self’ interlink with each other.

But it’s all about connecting with that future person so you can adapt as things change.

The important thing is to be clear on your goals so you can make the NEXT LEVEL YOU proud to call you her past self. How’s that for a turnaround?

Let’s change the way you think about your business.

If you want to hear my PODCAST on this topic, head over here to listen. I get down and deep on this with fellow entrepreneur Nicole Rose, host and founder of the ‘Big Queen Energy’ Podcast.

After you listen to the podcast, take the time to reflect on your own self. This is the perfect time to get started on that version of yourself you know you can be!

4 Sure Ways to Position Yourself as an Expert

simone-erotokritou-Position Yourself as an Expert.jpg

My clients often ask me how they can build trust and come across as an expert in their field.

My short answer: Look and sound the part.

Don’t worry, that’s not the end of the article. I’ll get to my list of ways in a minute.

But if others perceive you to be an expert, then you have become The Expert. But… how do you do it?

Take my situation for example.

My clients come to me for advice because I’ve established myself as an authority in my field. But I wasn’t always a thought leader. I had to work my way to this humble position.

You can get there too. All it takes is a little effort.

If you’re reading this, you probably already know the reasons why you want people to see you as an expert. But you want to know how. Right?

I’m a personal branding coach for women, so I want to point out that it’s important to first get your “purpose” in order — and then establish yourself as an expert in your niche.

Once you are one hundred percent clear on your message and you’ve built your brand foundation, you should then go on to gain trust and establish your credibility.

4 Ways to Establish Credibility in Your Field:

1. Write a book

This is high up there on my list of ways. Whenever someone sees “author” next to your name, they immediately think of you as someone they should be listening to. I mean, if you wrote a book on the subject, you must know what you’re talking about.

You appear as someone who is knowledgeable and educated. Not only that, but not everyone feels like they could ever write a book. So if they see this about you, they are immediately impressed.

Writing a book can lead to amazing opportunities. For example, once you publish a book, others will take notice and you could get asked to be a guest at a major event. Now, wouldn’t that be something?

After I published my book Monetise Your Message, I received fantastic offers! Public speaking, guest appearances, and I was even invited to interview at the Personal Branding Festival. That felt especially great.

It was such an honour to give insight into my personal branding knowledge at all of these events.

And having these things on my resume quickly led me to gain trust in my field — which brings me to my next topic.

2. Take part in an interview

There are two ways you can take part in interviews. You can get invited, or you can reach out yourself and make the first pitch. In my case, I mentioned getting invited. But you can certainly reach out yourself to someone you would love to share your message with.

The key is to make things happen for yourself in your business.

And interviews are a great way to share your expertise.

I believe it’s our duty to share our message with people. If you have something to say that others can benefit from, why hold it back? Others will be grateful, and you will feel thankful to be able to help.

One thing I love about interviews is, it’s a good way to share things you wouldn’t think to share yourself. Sometimes you don’t even realise what you know until you’re asked in an interview. And when you answer with grace, it might surprise you.

But best of all, you will come off confident and intelligent.

3. Guest Posting

This is another great way to build an audience and establish credibility. The idea is to get published in a high-authority blog or website. You will be able to say, ‘I got featured in “this blog”’. And even plaster it on your website!

Make sure what you write offers value to the readers so they really take in what you say. If you’re unsure what to write about, think about where there are gaps in the content when it comes to your niche. And fill those gaps.

You can also take an idea that’s already out there and give your own perspective on the topic. You have your own unique voice and thoughts, and people want to hear that.

If you feel like you’re just not the “writing type”, you can always hire a ghostwriter. Ghostwriters will write in honour of you, and your name will still be on the article as the author. (You can do this for books as well) So – you have no excuse.

4. Public Speaking

I know public speaking can sound scary at first. It was for me too. This is especially true for women because we often feel judged and feel we need to be more submissive: I blame society.

But if you’re a business owner who offers a service, you’re already doing it in some ways. Or you will be if you’re not yet.

You talk with clients on a regular basis – and with confidence. It takes skill to speak with such confidence.

I know what you’re thinking. Speaking in front of a live group is far different than speaking with a client. But it doesn’t have to be. The mind is a powerful thing – and if you imagine that you’re just sitting in front of another client – it will all feel much easier.

Public speaking can get you in front of important people and help build your reputation.

With the way things are right now, most events are online which makes them easier to share and get your ideal clients’ eyes on you. It’s also a great way to create an impact – and I know that’s part of your overall goal.

The Takeaway

These are some of the things I personally did to become a thought leader in my niche. They might all seem intimidating to you at first. But you’d be surprised how easy it is to talk about something you’re super passionate about.

When you get your mindset straight and realise that all you’re doing is talking about your passion, all of the scary parts will ease up.

Rise above the noise in your head and get rid of that voice that tells you “you can’t”.

Sometimes it can be hard to see the value you bring. But you do offer value, and you offer something unique to your brand. Bring it and share it.

If you need some inspiration, you can check out my book, Monetise Your Message. Inside, there are 21 real stories from 21 women who share your same struggles.

It’s also packed with great tips and advice that you can use in your own business!

It’s time to go share your own message. : ) Good luck

Here’s Why You Should Celebrate Your Entrepreneur Self

Celebrate-Yourself-More_Often.png

Let’s talk for a minute.

In fact, let’s scream from the rooftops everything you’ve accomplished so far in your business. Too much? Yeah, you’re right. That’s a bit over the top.

But...you should celebrate how far you’ve come. And you should do it often. That’s the issue with many of us entrepreneurs — my former self included. We don’t congratulate ourselves enough to really ‘see’ what we’ve achieved.

In our daily lives, we celebrate all types of milestones. Birthdays. Anniversaries. Weddings. Babies.

We even have parties for many of these special phases in our lives. So, why can’t we do the same when it comes to our business?

Spoiler Alert: We can and we should!

The funny part is, we tend to focus on our setbacks more than our successes. I know. It’s hard not to because they really take a toll on us. But this may be because we compare ourselves to others, instead of looking at our journey as ‘our journey’.

Going through hardships is just part of the process. Yes, you should recognise those hardships and learn from them. But don’t put too much negative energy towards them. Focus on the positives and concentrate on your many accomplishments. Even making it through the end of this article is an achievement.

When was the last time you looked back and said to yourself ‘I am so proud of myself’?

If it’s too long ago to remember – that’s too long.

And don’t forget to also appreciate your ‘small’ wins. Sometimes when we do take the time to acknowledge ourselves, we only focus on our ‘big’ wins. Your small successes are what eventually lead you to the bigger ones. They are just as special.

Be proud of both.

Why Celebrate Your Accomplishments

You probably have many reasons why you don’t showcase what you’ve done. Maybe you don’t want to come off as a snob. Maybe you don’t feel like you’ve achieved enough. Maybe you just don’t feel the need to do so.

Whatever your reason might be, you don’t want to lose sight of your wins. So, always honour your big (and small) moments as they happen. If you wait, there’s a good chance you might not be as enthusiastic about it, or worse: forget altogether

Here are some reasons why you would be smart to step back and take notice of your victories:

You’ll start to view yourself as an accomplished business owner. The more you achieve, the more you’ll feel valued in what you do. Once you express your own accomplishments, you’ll notice your own worth. And so will those around you.

You become aware of all the great things you’ve done. Did you even notice how far you’ve come? Once you stop to look back at everything you’ve done, you’ll realise you’re much further along than you think. That’s why it’s important to reflect back every time you get a chance.

You’ll feel relief from that dreaded burnout feeling. You may feel like you’re getting nowhere and have a continuous list of to-dos. I mean, every time you check something off, another task takes its place. How is that possible? Take a breather for a second and celebrate the ones you have checked off.

You’ll feel more confident and motivated. When you realise what you can actually achieve, you will build more confidence within yourself. And you’ll feel motivated to work even harder toward your next goal.

Every time you hit a goal – stop for a moment – recognise and celebrate. It’s a snowball effect. Once you hit your first win, you’ll get another, then another...until one day, you say to yourself “I really can do this”!

And you’ll prove all your ‘doubters'’ wrong (We all have them!).

Don’t keep your successes a secret. Put them out there for the world to see and spread the word. This is so important. The more you share your celebrations, the more empowerment you will feel to keep going and keep doing.

How to Celebrate Your Accomplishments

There are so many ways to celebrate your wins. It all depends on you. How do you want to enjoy yourself?

Make the celebration appropriate to fit the situation.

You can go all out and take a trip to Paradise, or keep it small and block out an hour for Netflix time (as long as your husband isn’t hogging the television again).

Here are a few ideas to get you started:

  • Book a romantic getaway to the Mediterranean island of your dreams!

  • Have a staycation doing things you’ve never done in your own home town.

  • Treat yourself to a shopping spree. (Careful with this one, don’t get carried away!).

  • Open a luxury bottle of wine you’ve been saving for a special occasion.

  • Give yourself an at-home spa treatment.

  • Treat yourself to frozen yogurt.

  • Send out a post on social media so you can share your joy.

  • Take a much-needed nap (We could all use this one).

  • Dine at your favorite restaurant.

  • Cook your favorite meal.

Or simply pat yourself on the back. It just needs to be something that makes you feel accomplished and gets you excited to keep working.

My challenge to you is to identify an accomplishment for yourself at least once a week. Write it down if you have to. Seeing it on paper can spark even more pride. This can be so powerful and completely change your vision. Your business will thank you!

This Is Why I No Longer Believe in Competition

Simone-Erotokritou--This Is Why I No Longer Believe in Competition

Do you believe in competition? I know, it’s sort of a vague question. As far as your business goes, competition is something I see many of my clients stress over.

Too many women business owners worry about their “competitors”.

And this does nothing but distract you from your main purpose. The purpose that you worked so hard to achieve. Which is to build a life-changing brand that gives you inspiration every day.

And trust me, you have enough going on to worry about what everyone else is doing.

I’m here to tell you something many people may disagree with me on...but I’m going to say it anyway.

There’s no such thing as competition when it comes to your business.

Your business is exactly that — your business. You built it the way you wanted to and that makes it unique.

Let’s dive in deeper.

Is She Really Your Competitor?

When you searched online, you came across another lady with your same mission.

She has the same type of business as you and appears to be doing very well. You quickly become intimidated by her.

"Wow! She must be doing everything right."

You think she’s your rival because she offers the exact same service to the same target audience. You even strive to run your business the way she does.

She’s an expert in her field, so it makes sense to want to become like her. But...would this really benefit you? She may offer similar services, but she’s not you. And you’re not her.

I honestly believe the part of your business that makes you different is you. You know that your business should have a unique selling proposition –– or USP as you’ve heard the gurus call it. Something that makes it stand out from the rest.

I believe that your USP is you.

The way you run your business is different from the way anyone else in your position would run your business. That alone sets you apart. People want to work with people they connect with. It’s only natural.

You’re going to attract a different clientele than that expert you found online. That’s a good thing! You want to attract those that want what you bring to the table. Because you bring something unique.

Focus on Yourself

Success starts with you.

If you focus on the value you bring and try to be the best version of yourself — you won’t even have time to worry about who you think your competition is.

You should always work on getting better at whatever it is you do. This is something you should continue to do. Whether you read books, listen to podcasts, or practice your craft — you should strive to always be learning

Not only will you become more confident in yourself, you’ll also be able to showcase your confidence to your clients.

You should also be aware of how you come across to others in general and know how your audience views you.

Like I mentioned before, people join people. If they see themselves in you — or resonate with you in some way — you will attract them to your business.

So, it’s always best to “be yourself” and “show yourself”.

The more transparent you are, the easier it will be for your audience to get to know you. And the more they will trust you and your opinions.

You’re only in competition with yourself

Change Your Mindset

When I see another businesswoman succeed, I feel inspired. I don’t view it in a way that she is any better than me.

Everyone has a different story. It’s how you use your story to help others that counts.

I know that I have different talents, aspirations, life experiences… and more. I also have different views on the world than she does.

And I am completely capable of being just as successful as she is in her career. If you have this mentality too, you’ll be able to accomplish anything.

Something important I also want to point out is that you don’t know her journey. Maybe she’s had hardships she’s had to overcome on her way to the top. In fact...I can almost promise she did.

Every person who is successful has failed at something. Even Oprah Winfrey — known for being on TV — was demoted at one of her first jobs in television1. (I’m sure that job regrets it now)

But this goes to show us that even the “Greats” have stories of failure.

To get past the self-doubt and jealousy, you need to change your mindset.

I know… it’s easier said than done. But my goal today is to change the way you think about competition.

Because once you do that you’ll have a whole new outlook on yourself.

How Can We Uplift Instead of Compete?

You might be compelled to not give advice or insight into someone else’s business because you think you’re “sharing your secrets”.

Or you think you’ll get left behind in the dust if they “know what you know”.

We should change this frame of mind and help each other.

Next time someone asks for help, step up and help. Or better yet, you make the first offer.

If we all did this, women would take over the business world!

As women, we need to be able to support each other’s dreams. And as women entrepreneurs, we should be able to celebrate each other’s accomplishments

If you keep comparing yourself to others, you will quickly get defeated. And that can’t be good for your business.

Instead, let’s join hands to make each woman stronger.

We live in a digital world, so finding support is simple with our laptops at our fingertips.

There are women all over the world looking for accountability partners, and they are easy to find.

A major benefit of being part of a tribe of women around the world is you get many different viewpoints on things. That can become a benefit for your clients too!

See how Alina COMPLETELY UPGRADED her business after joining:

“Before I found Simone, I had been trying to build my business for several months by myself. I wasted a lot of time on trivial things, and I wasn’t moving forward. I had a lot of anxiety and stress because I didn’t know what I was offering, I wasn’t sure why clients would choose me over 100 other language mentors. Before, I thought that I could figure everything out on my own and that I didn’t need any help. How wrong I was! Why try to reinvent the wheel when it has already been invented?

It’s so important to have support, to connect with like-minded people and to build a right strategy.

Working with Simone, was one of the best decisions I have made for me and my business.”

Why a Support System Is the Answer for Your Business Success

Why a Support System Is the Answer for Your Business Success.jpg

It’s a tough journey.

And not for the faint of heart. But if you’ve taken the high road into entrepreneurship, you’ve taken the first steps into creating a life you love

Congratulations! You can now share your passion with the world. You’re on your way to the top.

But, for some reason, you don’t feel prepared. You feel a bit overwhelmed. There’s so much to learn on top of your own skills. And you’re not sure where to turn for help.

Your family and friends are there for you, but they may not know the first thing about running a business. So, who do you turn to?

No one in your immediate network can relate to what inspires you. And you never realised how lonely entrepreneurship could be.

But the good news is, there are ways to turn this around. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel and I’m going to guide you there.

How To Cope With the Everyday Struggle

You knew when you started that being an entrepreneur was going to be a ton of work. It takes commitment, knowledge, and believing in yourself. And some days, you may not feel up to capacity. Some days, you might even feel like quitting.

But I know your dedication and you would never let that happen.

This is why it’s so beneficial to surround yourself with like-minded individuals who understand. They recognise the struggles you go through on a daily basis because they are likely going through the same hardships.

Let’s be honest. You’re not always going to feel like putting one hundred percent into your business. And it can be easy to fall off track at times. Especially when you get stuck trying to figure something out you have no idea about (like the majority of things that come with building your business!) Am I right?

Working on your business by yourself is a huge mistake many entrepreneurs make. And having a support system has even been known to reduce stress. Because who says you need to do it alone? In fact, there’s no reason to. There are resources to find like-minded individuals who share the same drive.

Having a community of fellow entrepreneurs beside you will help in many ways:

Accountability

Being held accountable for your actions helps you stay productive. When you have others around you to ask for help, it’s easier to stay on the right path. At a 9 to 5 job, accountability refers to assigning each person specific tasks.

In entrepreneurship, accountability is showing up every day and doing what you need to do to stay successful. And helping others do the same. It can be rewarding and fulfil you in ways you never knew.

Help When You Need It

There’s always going to be someone out there who is further along on their journey. Perhaps they even have knowledge of a particular subject that you do not.

Whether it’s a mentor or a support system of like-minded business owners (or both) — having guidance will save you time on the research you didn’t want to do yourself anyway. The more energy you can save and focus on the funpart of your business, the better. You will enjoy your work ten times more.

Every stage of your business brings on new challenges. But if you have people there to guide you along the way, you will have somewhere to direct all your questions. That is so valuable!

Encouragement

Celebrating your accomplishments is an important part of success. It’s natural to feel the need to share your excitement with others. But it’s a different feeling when you celebrate with your friends and family, as opposed to fellow business owners.

Entrepreneurs understand other entrepreneurs in a unique and special way. When we hear others succeed, we are truly happy for them. Getting encouragement from others is a major confidence boost. When you feel confident in yourself, it will show in your work. And will help build momentum in your business.

Where Can You Find a Helpful Support System?

By now, you understand the importance of having a strong support system. They can be the backbone of creating and sustaining your dream business! Living your dream is the reason you started in the first place, isn’t it?

If it wasn’t, you wouldn’t have made it this far. It’s your extreme passion that brought you here

I know this because I’m just like you. A female entrepreneur with a big heart for what I do. I absolutely love being my own boss and living life on my own terms. The day I left my 9 to 5 job is the day my life finally began

I am now the go-to expert in my field and get to help women achieve the same victory every day! But I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t have help along the way.

Getting support can do wonders for your mindset and self-esteem because you’re surrounded by positivity and inspiration.

There’s no greater feeling than filling your days with inspiration from others. And giving it back in return.

If you don’t have a support system behind you yet, that is the absolute next step in your personal journey

You don’t have to go at this alone and I JUST launched an exclusive group coaching program for Go-Getters only. The ones who are ready to dive headfirst into finding their brand voice!

My 4 steps to finding free branding photos.

First and foremost-⁣⁣

Make sure to double check the terms of use for all photos you use and that they are 100% free for commercial use.⁣⁣

✨ Step 1 ✨⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Once you have your brand colors, it's time for your brand photos.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
✨ Step 2 ✨⁣⁣
⁣⁣
For each of the options all you have to do is go in and search a word that relates to your business. For example, I would search something like “laptop"⁣⁣.
⁣⁣
✨ Step 3 ✨⁣⁣
⁣⁣
For websites in general, we want the largest number of the dimensions to be in between 1500-2000px. When the exact right size is not available, select the size closest to it.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
✨ Step 4 ✨ ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I want you to find 5 photos for your business. However, you want the tone in all 5 photos to match so that you get a cohesive look (so you don’t want a mix of dark and bright/light images)⁣⁣.

If you want to deliver value to your clients you have to know what you do and who you help!

The easiest ways to do this are:

Shift into a new reality with a new mindset. Go from feeling uncomfortable and nervous to making sales feel like something that is life giving.

Clarify WHAT you actually sell. If you are not clear on what it is you actually do and how to communicate the thing you sell it’s going to be difficult for your clients to understand how to buy.

Connect to WHY you are selling your products/services. This is really about getting to the heartbeat.

Determine HOW you are offering your products/services and find the most effective methodology. Test the market and do market research!
